Volatility without Price
Volatility without Price (Vol w/o Price)
What it means: A situation where trading activity and "churn" are high, but the net price remains relatively flat.
In plain terms: A "tug-of-war." Buyers and sellers are fighting hard, but nobody is winning yet.
Example: ADA sees massive trading volume all day, but the price starts at $0.50 and ends at $0.50.
- Bonds: Almost non-existent in stable debt markets.
- Equities: Happens during periods of "churn" where buyers and sellers are in a standoff.
- Crypto: A "pressure cooker" signal; indicates that high activity is building toward a massive move.
How to use it: This is a "pressure cooker" signal. It suggests a big move is coming once one side (buyers or sellers) finally gives up.
